Background and Credentials

I am a board-certified Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 12 years of experience in the psychiatric field. While earning my graduate degree through Walden University , I worked in a psychiatric facility with a population ranging from child to adult inpatient care focused on treating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, schizophrenia, and substance abuse.

My approach is to follow evidence-based guidelines combined with clinical experience and personal observations of patient treatment. My role as a practitioner is not just diagnosing and managing mental health illness, but also making changes to the stigma and stereotyped views about this population. I believe that people with mental illness have the same societal value as people without mental illness.
